Symptoms of Kidney Stones

Some people with kidney stones do not have any symptoms.
Kidney Stone Symptoms
Below are some symptoms experienced by people who have kidney stones.

  • Severe pain, with blood in the urine.
  • Pain in the left or right side depending what kidney is affected by stones.
  • Sometimes the pain spreads down to the groin.
  • Difficulty in urinating, sometimes passing of small stones or crystal in the urine.
  • Dull ache or dragging sensation in the loin.
  • When ureter is blocked by stones, it causes maximum pain that spreads to the testes or the tip of the penis in males.
  • Urinary tract infection (UTI). Stones in the urinary tract often lead to infections.
  • Kidney stone can also cause high blood pressure.
  • Fever, if infection is present.
  • Urgency to pass the urine/Increased frequency of passing the urine.
  • Increased pain is some postures.
